After the Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire by firing many-a-times along the LoC(Line of Control), the hackers from India and Pakistan are also found involved in full-blown online war that erupted in the cyberspace. On Thursday, over a dozen Indian and Pakistani websites were defaced by hackers from either side of the fence.

Indian-Pakistani websites hacked

Websites that were defaced by hackers from either side:


  • The website of Press Club of India (PCI) in Delhi was hacked and defaced, with the hackers' message on the website's home page claiming to be of Pakistani origin.

  • The website of the Pakistan's main opposition party, Pakistan People's Party (PPP), www.ppp.org.pk was hacked and defaced by a hacker group calling itself  "Indian Hackers Online Squad" on Wednesday, with one "Bl@k Dr@gon" taking up the responsibility.

  • On Thursday, the Pakistan railways website was hacked as well,it was for the second time this year, with the same name appearing on the defaced page, claiming the credit.

  • In response to a Wednesday attack on Malayalam films actor Mohanlal's website, a group called "The Mallu soldiers" defaced the website of Pakistan's National University of Modern Languages.

  • Some other sites that were defaced by anonymous Indian hackers include : the websites of  Quaid-e-Azam Public College in Gujranwala (http://qpc.edu.pk/), Pakistan Electric Power Company (Private) Limited (www.pepco.gov.pk) and National Manpower Bureau (www.nmb.com.pk).

  • The "about me" page of singer Sonu Nigam's official website and teammodi.in were also defaced by a group that claims to be "Pakistan Cyber Attackers".

  • Two Punjab news websites were also found to have been hacked.
The social networking site Twitter has also not remained unaffected by this Cyber War. Hashtags like #BuzdilPakistan have been trending in India on Twitter, while the top trends such as #CowardModi, #freekashmirfromindia, #IndiaIsTerrorist, and #SayNoToBollywood are most trending in Pakistan.
