Xiaomi Redmi Note 3G To Get MIUI v6 In January

According to MIUI Forums, a new timeline has been given for the release of MIUI 6 for Redmi Note 3G. Not only it will get MIUI 6 , but also it would have Android Kitkat 4.4, as Xiaomi will present MIUI based on Kitkat. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3G will get MIUI 6 update on 13th of January.

It may be noted that Redmi Note 3G originally got shipped with Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 which is pretty old and heavy on Memory. But since overlayed by MIUI v5 , the user hardly needed to worry about his phone's performance , because MIUI itself is a very heavy customization over stock android and provided many features which were missing from vanilla Android.

As Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G , the based on Snapdragon 400 processor, has already got MIUI v6 flavored Kitkat update, the 3G version is still on android 4.2.2 , even though the later having relatively better processor which is MediaTek 6592 @1.7Ghz Octa-Core processor.

One of the main reason behind this is Xiaomi not releasing the kernel source for Redmi Note 3G, as if it was released, there would be lot of AOSP roms floating around us for this device.

Recently , Xiaomi released kernel source for Redmi 1s.

Although , The above given release date is For China Rom, but Global users can download and flash this Rom as it supports english language too.The Basic difference b/w China Rom and Global Rom is that Global Rom contains all the asian languages, whereas China Rom contains Chinese as well as English.
