Now-A-Days , there are numerous amount of ways to stream the video, audio and photo content present on your android smartphone to other media devices such as TV, PS3 and other such consoles. One can go for Miracast , the easiest way, but may not be available on all the products. For those who don't know what Miracast is , "Miracast is a certification program of the Wi-Fi Alliance based on their Wifi-Display specification. It defines a protocol to connect an external monitor or TV to your device, and therefore can roughly be described as "HDMI over Wifi", replacing the cable from the computer to the display.", so basically, it is a protocol and a technology through which you can can project or more specifically "Mirror" your android , PC or other such devices screen to your Miracast enabled TV.

So, other way is DLNA/PNP/UPNP.  DLNA is an industry-wide standard for sharing data over a home network. Depending on the DLNA-compatible devices you own, you might be able to stream films and audio from your laptop, smartphone to your TV, play an MP3 stored on your phone over your hi-fi system, or print a photo from your tablet on your home printer.

Now , Lets move to the main point. The following guide is little more specific for TV's supporting DLNA and can be used for other devices too using little brain. The Source stream device used here is Xiaomi Redmi Note 3G. The Target device used is Sony Bravia KLV-32R482B : -

  • Download and install IMediaShare from here - Play Store Link. I Have used it personally and among other apps , its works even in worst case. Unfortunately , it doesn't support MKV format.
  • There are two ways to connect to your TV : -
    • First, if your TV have ability to connect to your home network (router duh!) via WIFI, then connect to it. Next, connect your android phone to your home network.
    • The Second method, is if your TV supports WIFI Direct like mine, you can directly connect to your TV without any intermediate router.
  • Now , After successful connection, open up the app in your smartphone. The start-up screen may take some time, so calm down and wait for a while.
  • After that, Tap on "Gallery Videos" tile.
