Motorola pushing the security update for Moto G (Ist gen)

In a very surprise move, Motorola has started rolling out the  security update for its devices.This includes the almost 3 years old device  Moto G also called (Ist gen). This security update will be patching up the vulnerability that enables the third party applications to execute the system based commands directly. 

Here are the overview of the security update :-

This update brings important security improvements to your phone and includes:

• Google patches up to and including Nexus Security Bulletin February 2016 
• Public An elevation of privilege vulnerability in the Kernel Keyring Component can enable a local malicious application to execute arbitrary code within the kernel. This is rated Moderate severity. The threat is mitigated because a proper SELinux policy will help prevent 3rd party apps from successfully making the direct syscalls that are necessary to exploit the vulnerability.
